Personalized one-on-one coaching

Key Skills Developed

• understanding mathematical concepts
• problem-solving strategies
• interpreting graphs and relationships
• building confidence with challenging problems

Ideal For Students Who

• feel stuck or frustrated in math
• struggle to follow lessons in class
• want to improve test performance
• want stronger foundations for future math courses

Math 10 Confidence Coaching supports students as they move deeper into high school mathematics. At this stage, many students encounter more abstract ideas and more complex problem-solving tasks. For some students, this is where confidence begins to drop.

At Shony Educational Services, coaching focuses on helping students develop a clear understanding of mathematical concepts while building the problem-solving strategies needed to approach unfamiliar questions with confidence.

Rather than simply completing homework, sessions focus on helping students understand how and why mathematical ideas work.

Key Areas of Focus

Coaching may support students in developing understanding in areas such as:

  • algebraic reasoning

  • linear relations and functions

  • problem-solving strategies

  • interpreting graphs and relationships

  • applying mathematics to real-world situations

Students learn how to break complex problems into manageable steps, recognize patterns, and build confidence through guided practice.

Building Mathematical Confidence

Many capable students struggle in Math 10 not because they lack ability, but because they become stuck during the learning process. When students begin to believe they are “not good at math,” their willingness to engage with challenging problems often decreases.

Math Confidence Coaching focuses on rebuilding that confidence through:

• clear explanations
• structured problem-solving approaches
• guided practice and feedback
• encouragement of independent thinking

As students develop stronger understanding, they also develop the confidence to tackle new challenges.

Who This Program Helps

Math 10 Confidence Coaching is especially helpful for students who:

  • feel stuck or frustrated in math

  • struggle to understand concepts during class

  • want to improve their problem-solving skills

  • need support preparing for tests and assignments

  • want to build stronger foundations for future math courses
